the secret is the frog should know about the ocean but still be content in the well

Lately, I've found the Tao anachronistic, especially in our interdependent country that emphasizes a deluded self-made individualism. I think championing the frog and other psuedo-spirituality can feed the self-made individualism myth at the cost of people not privileged enough to support their fulfillment of said myth.

At the same time, I also think that the Tao of the frog in this story and our highly industrialized and computerized nation that systematically has trouble supporting all its citizens don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive. I think its possible for all of us to embody both the frog and the turtle, and we would all be happier for it.
